swiss army bar

Designed to sit in a corner of a living room between a sofa and a leafy window, the bar top in marble and teak remains open to minimize height and maximize daylight and views. When in use, a motorised teak frame featuring a pen and ink illustration by the architect rises up at the touch of a button to screen off the counter. For busier occasions, a second counter concealed under the main one, can be swung out to make this an L shaped island bar.

The front façade is finished in marbled cork, whose texture is grazed via light recessed into the top, while the side shows a shapely leg in teak and steel. The rear features storage for bottles and glasses in deep pull-outs, with a slimmer drawer for accessories, and space for a bar fridge/ wine cooler.

materials: recycled teak, birch plywood, clear + fluted glass, marbled cork sheet, motor, LED profile lights, mild steel, artwork not included
